The former legislative aide to senator Ike Ekweremadu, Mr. Christian Onyeabor (Udengene) is up again in his treacherous game to gain the senator’s attention ahead of the 2023 general elections where the former deputy Senate president is expected to run for governor of Enugu state.
But it appears Udengene won’t have it on a platter of gold like he did in 2015. Apart from odious resentment from his shady dealings in 2015 and 2019 with his Aninri Youth mobilisers, another conceit man is out to prey for the same sport as him.
Udengene has created a forum, Coalition of Enugu West Youth Organizations, a kind of upgrade. While on his part, Prince Okugo, son of the veteran king of Ndumeze kingdom, HRM Onyioha Nwanjoku has declared himself APC gubernatorial hopeful for 2023.
His recent hobnobbing with the Enugu West political heavyweight is a clear indication that he is only after the recognition from the senator. He has been making, although feeble, attempt to connect with the leading structures and links of PDP in both Enugu West and Aninri local government council.
His visits to Hon. Ezekiel Chukwu, Aninri local council chairman and to senator Ike Ekweremadu, among other PDP leaders only added to his desperation to join PDP while still serving as the Enugu West zonal Youth leader on APC platform.
I’ve gathered that he is being awaited by double whammy as several stakeholders of APC found appalling the Prince’s treacherous steps.
Even so, PDP is laughing at his “stupidity” in the word of an influential PDP leader in Aninri.
Igwe Nwanjoku drew a lot of water in PDP in the days of governor Chimaroke Nnamani; he still have some level of influence in the politics of Aninri but much of this clout is through his sons.
Prince Okugo and Udengene are opening their game a bit too early and both are in for some dirty surprises, another partisan figure told me.
