Residents of Akwuke Awkunanaw inside Enugu metropolis plan mass protests to drive home their point that the state government has failed, a resident told A Luta in anonymity.
Good number of keke drivers, barrow pushers, traders, the Association of Non-Indigenes and the natives have been working round the clock since last week to make the protests real.
For years Akwuke road has deteriorated to a messy condition, and each successive government in Enugu State has paid deaf ear to the cry of these people.
Nobody knows for sure whether the mass action would eventually take place. Some influential stakeholders in the community, believed to be agents of government, are working underground to scuttle the protests, thus perpetuating the suffering of Akwuke residents.
